Overview

It is the primary responsibility of the PBX Attendant to process all incoming and outgoing calls through the main telephone switchboard. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices and procedures.

 

Specific Job Functions:

 

  • Answer incoming and outgoing calls using the property customer service standards
  • Receive and deliver voice and text messages for property guests
  • Process wake-up calls for guests
  • Communicate effectively with all business contacts
  • Operate a console and all peripheral equipment
  • Understand and comply with all company rules and regulations
  • Utilize overhead paging for casino guests
  • Locate executives on cellular phones and pagers
  • Handle calls, staff, and guests during an emergency situation
  • Review all property news and events for the day
  • Perform all duties as deemed necessary for the success of the department

Responsibilities/Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of customer service experience required
  • Basic computer skills including knowledge of function keys, using a mouse, basic navigation and Microsoft Outlook necessary
  • Positive attitude necessary
  • Good verbal communication skills, articulate pleasant speech a must
  • Team player a must
  • Ability to work any shift
  • Hotel and/or Casino industry experience preferred
  • Use of a console or multi-line phone experience preferred
  • Bilingual helpful
