    It is the primary responsibility of the Apprentice Bartender – Pool Bar to prepare and serve cocktails to servers and / or guests and to maintain adequate liquor supplies for bars, establish and maintain safe, sanitary bar areas and ensure prompt disposal of refuse. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices, and procedures. 


    Specific Job Functions:


    • Ensure proper set-up, stocking and delivery of liquor supplies, glassware and ice.
    • Maintain cleanliness of bar areas, coolers and equipment.
    • Perform deep cleaning of bars.
    • Complete required paperwork including bar transfers (liquors) and dry stock deliveries (napkins, towels and straws).
    • Maintain pars of liquors, beers, and supplies in coolers and dry storage areas, order as needed
    • Greet and converse with guests to suggest or receive cocktail order in a timely manner
    • Efficiently prepare and serve cocktails to customers/ cocktail servers in pool area following the sequence of service standards set forth by management.
    • Provide exceptional service to customers
    • Possess complete beverage knowledge of all products served.
    • Ensure the correct glassware/stemware is used according to department standards
    • Check ID's if the guest appears to be under 30
    • Follow Alcohol Awareness techniques as needed
    • Adhere to all responsible alcohol serving requirements as dictated by the state.
    • Handle monetary transactions  at the point of sales system (cash, credit cards and room charges) in accordance with department policies and procedures
    • Communicate with fellow employees and Managers regarding Guest requests.
    • Consistently deliver exceptional service to every Guest while interacting in a professional manner.
    • Possess a positive attitude towards the Guest and fellow employees to meet and exceed TI Pool standards.
    • Know all aspects of our business and match it to the Guest's needs to exceed their expectations. 
    • Make positive eye contact with the Guest.
    • Maintain alert posture, appearing approachable to Guests.
    • Maintain utmost respect and courtesy for Guests at all times.
    • Maintain professional and well groomed appearance, posture and hygiene.
    • Maintain sanitation, cleanliness, and insure the health and safety of our Guests and fellow employees at all times.
    • Maintain a clean and hygienic work station in accordance with Clark County Health Standards.
    • Maintains quality services standards with all guests by creating a friendly, relaxed atmosphere while coordinating service requests.
    • Prepare order to replenish stock at bar to pre-determined par levels
    • Work station must be maintained and left stocked and cleaned for next shift
    • Possess the ability to work in a team environment
    • Maintain flexibility to perform other job related tasks as deemed necessary by management.
    • Be able to perform a task that requires standing and/or moving at a fast pace for periods of up to eight hours or longer
    • Communicate with Management to keep them informed of all special requests from a guest as well as any potential problems or concerns
    • Assist new employees with training and answering questions
    • Be ethical and professional at all times
    • Perform all duties as deemed necessary for the success of the department
    • Work special events as needed for the successful operation of department.
    • Adhere to departmental and company policies


    • Minimum one year experience in a high volume hotel / restaurant experience required
    • High volume hotel/bar and restaurant experience preferred 
    • Must have an excellent upbeat attitude and personality with the ability to interact with people of diverse backgrounds
    • Must be able to simultaneously handle the demands of many Guests, while maintaining a friendly and positive personality at all times 
    • Must be willing to work in a loud and smoke filled environment
    • Must have the ability to withstand high temperatures, heat and sun exposure.
    • Pleasing personality and ability to communicate with customers
    • Communicate effectively in English both verbally and written forms
    • Knowledge of ABC laws
